Assemble the CyberBrick standard controller from printed parts and the beginner hardware kit, then wire and close the remote for the forklift build.
Last week we built the MakerWorld remote-control forklift. Without a controller, it's like having a toy with no batteries. This guide assembles the matching CyberBrick Standard Controller.
Building the Controller
Glue the Parts First
I like to glue parts that can set while the rest of the assembly is underway. Keep fingers clear of the super glue.
Glue the thumb controls, the magnet in the access cover, and the standoffs on top of the controller as shown in the images.

Wire the Transmitter Module
Follow the wiring diagram to connect the cables and components. The plugs are keyed, so if a connector does not fit, turn it around rather than forcing it. The orange wires on one joystick module cross over before connecting; take care not to miss that detail.

Fasten the Electronics
Follow the kit instructions to place and fasten each component. Check the completed top view before closing the housing.

Close the Controller
Install the remaining printed pieces with the M2.5 screws. Snap the access cover into the top, add the lever and push-button cover, install the top and back covers, then thread the battery-pack fishing wire into place and fit the bottom back cover.

Install the thumb controls and turn the retainer rings until they lock in place, then fit the thumb pads.

Task Complete!
The controller is ready for forklift adventures and can also work with other CyberBrick vehicles and projects. Explore and build on the platform.
